There was volleyball jargon and enthusiasm flying on the Day-1 of 7th Inter- School Volleyball Tournament at Renaissance Sports Arena.
Studies along with sports has been the most important part when it comes to Renaissance School, Bulandshahr where the talent meets the opportunity. In keeping with concern about Fit India, Healthy India, Renaissance School, Bulandshahr kick started the 7th Inter-School Volleyball Tournament 2024-25 for 2 days on 28th August 2024. Nineteen schools all across Bulandshahr affiliated to CBSE participated in this mega tournament. The ceremony commenced after the hearty welcome of the Chief Guest, Mrs. Indra Sharma, the Chairperson of the school with a grand march past by school NCC Cadets.
After a brief and amazing cultural programme, the Chief Guest inaugurated the much awaited event by cutting the ribbon and announcing the tournament open, followed by the first ball being served by Mr. Abhirag Sharma, the Chief Administrator of the school. The Principal, Mr. Ashok Mathur in his address, emphasized that such competitions offer windows for bonding together as a family; he also urged the students to play with true spirit of sportsmanship. The Senior Administrators, Mr. Vishwas Sharma and Mr. Shivam Mohan Sharma and the Administrator Mr. Varun Kaushik witnessed all the matches and praised the efforts of all the players for fighting to lift the Renaissance Trophy. All the matches were played on a knock-out basis.
The tournament started with full enthusiasm and in the opening match of the Day-1, R.S.M. Olympian, Shikarpur, registered its first win by 2-1 sets against Divine Educational School, Sikandrabad. In the match 2, Renaissance School, beating Saint Giri School in 2-0 back to back sets and made its way to the first Quarter-Final and again cemented its place for one of the semi-finals by winning a one sided quarter-final match against Leelawati Convent School, Bulandshahr with 2-0 sets. Due to on and off drizzling rain, the remaining matches of Day-1 were called off and will be resumed tomorrow.
