Service aces, assists, digs, blocks and skills. There was volleyball jargon and enthusiasm flying on the Day-1 of Inter- School Volleyball Tournament at Renaissance Sports Arena.
Sports has been a hallmark of Renaissance School, Bulandshahr. In keeping with concern about Fit India, Healthy India, Renaissance School, Bulandshahr kickstarted the 6th Inter-School Volleyball Tournament 2023-24 for 2 days on 22nd November 2023. Seventeen CBSE affiliated schools all across Bulandshahr participated in this mega tournament. The ceremony commenced after the hearty welcome of the Chief Guest, Mrs. Usha Sharma, the Chairperson of the school with a grand march past by school NCC Cadets.
After a brief and amazing cultural programme, the Chief Guest inaugurated the much awaited event by cutting the ribbon and announcing the tournament open, followed by the first ball being served by Mr. Abhirag Sharma, the Chief Administrator of the school. The Principal, Mr. Ashok Mathur in his address, emphasized that such competitions offer windows for bonding together as a family; he also urged the students to play with true spirit of sportsmanship. The Senior Administrators, Mr. Vishwas Sharma and Mr. Shivam Mohan Sharma and the Administrator Mr. Varun Kaushik witnessed all the matches and praised the efforts of all the players for fighting to lift the Renaissance Trophy. All the matches were played on a knock-out basis. The tournament started with full enthusiasm and in the opening match of the Day-1, B. K. Sr. Sec. School, Jahangirabad registered its first win by 21-3 and 21-8 points in first two sets against R. K. Educational School, Sikandrabad.
In the first quarter final, the host team became the first team to go to semi-final by beating Nation Public School, Bulandshahr by 21-12 and 22-20 in two back to back sets.
All Saint’s School, Bulandshahr got into semi- final in the second quarter final after beating Delhi Public School, Bulandshahr in an exciting match by 21-09 and 23-21 points.
In the 3rd nail biting quarter final match, NUS School, Bulandshahr took a lead of 21-17, 17-21 and 15-10 points in 3 sets respectively against B K Sr. Sec School, Jahangirabad.
Sunrise Global School, Manpur cemented its place for semi-final after taking lead in first two sets by 21-5 and 21-18 against Azad Public School (NCR), Bulandshahr in the fourth quarter final match.
